WORK FROM 2025
COSTI
COSTI Immigrant Services is a community-based multicultural agency providing employment, educational, settlement and social services to all immigrant communities, new Canadians and individuals in need of assistance.
Process
-
COSTI approached Church+State with the request of a revised brand narrative paired with a redesigned logo and brand guidelines. The goal was to create a design system that would be easily adaptable across all brand content and easily digestible in the hands of anyone in the company. I took on the role of lead designer for this project.
-
There were limitations and restrictions in the design process in order to maintain the familiarity of the brand itself which became a challenge when presenting concepts outside of the client’s comfort zone.
-
When communication is honest, open and kind, a final outcome can satisfy everyone involved.

Before
The COSTI logo needed to be simplified and refined. The new logo needed to remain recognizable to clients, maintain the original green from the colour palette, and give a nod to COSTI’s Canadian heritage.
This logo accomplishes all asks and even speaks to the settlement journey that Canadian newcomers experience by creating connection and movement in the typography.
