Sheertex

Sheertex provides durable, sustainable tights that are designed to last. Founder Katherine Homuth’s mission is to replace disposable tights with a strong and long-lasting knit that can be re-worn, again and again.

Sheertex is the first hosiery company to be using a fiber that is traditionally used for climbing equipment and in other more heavy duty ways, and getting it thin enough for pantyhose doesn’t come easy.

Sheertex expects creative to be high-performing, highly effective and visually appealing social media ads to promote sales, product-focuses, evergreen, testimonials and more.
Each design goes through a series of concept brainstorming, execution and revisions before final approval from Acquire Agency and Sheertex.
Sheertex is known for their many back-to-back sale periods to drive urgency and keep customers and new audiences coming back for more. This can sometimes be a challenge when it comes to meeting tight deadlines. Some campaigns require multiple variations and iterations as well as currency and translation alterations which can be time-consuming to complete.
Through working with Sheertex, I learned that designing strong, well thought-out creative is a fundamental and essential part of driving sales for a company. It is also important to keep concepts fresh and unrepetitive to avoid ad fatigue. This requires devoting a lot of time, effort and patience to achieve the results you are aiming for.

Process

Deliverables

Static design, carousels and Facebook DABA frames as well as additional assets such as stickers and banners for social. Each design is to be translated onto different dimensions. For example, 1x1 (feed) and 9x16 (story) is the standard for Facebook and Instagram.

3-Year Overview

I worked on Sheertex ads from 2021-2023. The brand has grown exponentially with style, voice and overall changes and transformations to their look and feel. Since 2021, I have grown and adapted with the brand.

I have joined many meetings with the client regarding new campaigns and have organized, lead and participated in countless brainstorming sessions for new concepts to keep ads looking fresh.

As the brand matured, so did my designs. Teaching myself new technical skills and familiarizing myself with the brand has become a fundamental part of working with Sheertex.

WORK FROM 2023

Watertex

Watertex is the first swimsuit that features a proprietary technical textile made using one of the world's most hydrophobic polymers. This means that the swimsuit is so water-repellent that it can be wiped dry.

Watertex is designed and manufactured in Canada by SRTX, the company that invented Sheertex.

The creative team at Sheertex approached us with a new idea for the world’s first water-repellent swimsuit. This idea would become their sub-brand – Watertex.

Their ask was for the delivery of various advertisements in preparation for launch. For me, this included evergreen, product-specific and testimonial static and carousel ads.
The only challenge I faced was straying away from Sheertex brand guidelines. Watertex has a much different look/feel to their brand, their expectations for deliverables are a little more strict. Getting into the new groove took some trial and error but the challenge was fun and the work was refreshing.
Through working with Watertex, I realized the importance of seperating yourself from what you are familar with in design.
